Reiki Training and Attunements

I, Derek, am an experienced Reiki healer and teacher  (mastery of the practice) of over 24 years and I have worked at developing this energy over many years since my training and attunement in 1999. So first and foremost, I regularly practice as a healer and so, through this, I like to share my experiences and understanding through my teachings. 

I offer Reiki training and attunements and feel it very important for a Reiki Master to provide support and guidance to all who train with them. The attunement is carried out in a warm, loving and relaxed atmosphere, with each aspect of training being geared to you as an individual. The attunement may be carried out in the beautiful peaceful setting of The Healing Tree Centre which is on the border of Cornwall and Devon. The attunement may be held under the "Healing Tree" Oak in the centre of the labyrinth . On completion of each level you will receive a certificate  and full manual.

I teach these days on a one to one basis which gives us greater flexibility in arranging the appointment but also means the day is solely focused on you and your experience. It has been my experience that this benefits you as a healer as we all have different life experiences and understanding and I adapt to that.

Reiki; 
- Supports the body's natural ability to heal itself

An ancient form of healing, believed to have originally spread from Tibet a few thousand years ago and re-discovered in Japan through Dr.Usui  in the early 1900s. Reiki as a healing practice,  is non religious and attunes us to be able to fully connect with and access  the universal life energy that flows all around us and is present in all matter.

This healing energy is channelled through the healer, who is attuned to the Reiki energy, and into the clients’ physical and energy body. It is a gentle, relaxing and (mostly) hands on technique that is performed while the patient is clothed  and all that is required of the client is a willingness to be open to accepting  the healing. The client may feel a pleasant sensation of warmth, coldness or a gentle tingling in the area treated. A full Reiki treatment can last up to an hour and is often carried out on a couch.  Those with mobility issues can also be accomodated in other ways rather than using a couch.   

Reiki Energy is a natural form of healing that helps to reduce stress and induces relaxation, both of which are important to promote healing. As the energy comes into balance, stress and tension are released and there is a deep sense of relaxation and feeling of well being.

Reiki can have a positive influence on your spiritual growth.  It supports you in making necessary changes in attitudes and lifestyle to promote a healthier and happier life.
